ADOX D-76 The Classic

The Kodak recipe “Developer-76” is the classic par excellence. Whether it was the great post-war B&W reportage in the West, the use of F19 in the East, or ID11 in England, all these legendary developers are based on the original D-76 recipe from Kodak. ADOX continues this tradition, but has decisively further developed the developer for the future.
Results and yield are identical to the old formula.

What is new with the ECO version?

Sustainability without compromise: We have made the recipe not only more environmentally friendly, but also safer for the user, without changing the legendary image characteristics.

Two-component system: To maximize stability and environmental compatibility, the set now consists of two separate components, just like the British classic ID11. We have replaced the toxic borates with a non-toxic and biodegradable buffer. In addition, a new, also biodegradable sequestering agent has been added, which further optimizes the performance of the developer. ADOX CAPTURA® technology (in Part B): This innovative technology was specifically integrated into Part B. It ensures that the powder does not create dust during preparation and dissolves significantly faster, for safer and more convenient handling. Optimized solubility: The new recipe is soluble from as low as 29°C. As a result, significantly less cooling time is required after preparation before development can begin, a decisive advantage, especially in warmer regions.

Why does the ECO version cost more than the standard ADOX D-76? Producing a long-lasting, ecologically optimized developer is a highly complex process. The development of a formula with the requirements mentioned above requires significantly more time, precision, and effort in production than the classic version. Although production is more expensive and complicated, it was important to us to offer this option. Because that is exactly what ADOX is about: preserving proven tradition through state-of-the-art innovation and making it sustainable for the future.
