Making film photography analogue again!

BerliNova is a compact darkroom that allows you to print your film wherever you are.

In the past, you would have to convert a room in your house into a dedicated darkroom to experience the magic of turning your negatives into real photos. And let’s be honest, that’s quite complicated and, very often, an impossible thing to do.

Jagglé has compacted that space into a simple system that gives you a darkroom in desktop format.

Our mission is simple:

Making the darkroom experience accessible for everyone!

(especially for those who don’t have a room to spare)

Why print yourself?

  • Well, first of all, it gives you the TRUE analog experience.
  • We’re aware of the digital era that we’re living in, and we also like sharing the effects of our work on the Internet.  But at the same time, we struggled with the question, “Why shoot film, if the result is digital?”. This made us realize that the best feeling for an analog photographer is to not only shoot the photos in an analog way but also get authentic prints of them.
  • Jaggle allows you to experience the complete analog process and learn many new techniques and workflows that allow you to express yourself more creatively.

    FAQ on Berlinova

    What is analogue printing?

When printing we turn our film negatives into paper positives, real photos to look at and enjoy our work. The principle is the same as that of a camera; a silver halide emulsion is exposed to light and forms a negative image. Only because our film is already negative, a positive image is formed, effectively inverting the negative.

The BerliNova allows you to print your 35mm negatives to 5x7in or 13x18cm paper.

You can print black and white as well as colour negatives with the BerliNova. Take into account however that for true colour reproduction advanced colour control is needed, which is not a feature of the initial release of the BerliNova app. You can however easily print your colour negatives to black and white paper, for a real vintage feel

    Why did we create Berlinova?

The BerliNova system was designed to make analog printing accessible and available for everyone. The initial system is a good place to start, and we hope to release more products in the future, widening the spectrum of analog printing options. Stay tuned!

Is this the Final version of the product?

The current system of BerliNova is still in the prototype phase. Thus, cropping and lens change still have limitations. Also, we still don’t have different film and paper formats available.

We’re already working on solving those limitations. However, we’re still in the Kickstarter phase and need to collect the right amount of money for the full development, including tooling and production.

Watch this space because we’re committed to releasing new products as soon as possible after the Kickstarter phase is past us!
