Testing the Double Film Holder
After making the first few prototypes to check the concept, I shared them with some friends — and their reactions convinced me we were on to something worth pursuing. The idea of a double film holder with a home for the darkslide seemed to resonate immediately.
So we took the next step: inviting 10 photographers to help us test the cassette in real shooting conditions. The response has been fantastic — thank you so much to everyone who replied and offered to take part. We now have a wonderful team of testers spread across Europe: from Sweden and Estonia to Cyprus and Spain, representing everything from small communities and educational centres to individual photographers. Your enthusiasm means a lot, and it’s exciting to see others sharing the same curiosity about making large-format photography just a bit more practical.
Right now we’re in the workshop manufacturing the first 10 cassettes, and they’ll be heading out soon. We can’t wait to hear everyone’s feedback and see how the design performs out in the field.
Over the coming weeks we’ll be collecting feedback, refining the design, and sharing some of the results here on the blog. This is where things get really interesting — when ideas leave the workshop and start being used in the field.
